Charcoal City Subtraction
This was such a fun study in 3-point perspective- except, the rows and rows of window drove me nuts. But it was a fun challenge after all. These are high rises that I took photos of in Houston, TX.

"Joyful" 8x10. "Original" Oil on canvas. This still life painting was rendered live with items I gathered from my moms house to paint. The small bird in this painting simply brings me joy!

"Hope" 18x24. "Original" Charcoal on paper. This still life study was rendered using the subtraction method. Nothing is more intimate than the time we spend in Bible study and prayer.

Still Life in Charcoal
18x24, "Original" Charcoal and China marker on paper. A study in proportion and plane shifts using the subtraction method. I had so much fun creating the see-through glass and shine.
Portrait in Charcoal & Graphite
18x24, Charcoal and graphite on paper. Using the subtractive method this portrait was rendered using charcoal, graphite, and a white China marker. What a cutie! "Original" from a family photo.

Nativity in Oil
8x10. Oil on canvas. I have always wanted to paint a nativity. I really enjoyed painting this for Christmas. Blues and purples together portray Royalty. Happy birthday, Jesus.
