Self-Portrait Concept Sketch
(Click on Title for my inspiration story) “This Close” "Original" WORK IN PROGRESS... God gave me the vision for this, my self-portrait, over a year ago. It is the first I have ever attempted.
Pastel on Black Paper
I enjoyed rendering this cat portrait. I love the high contrast of the white pastel on black paper. There is something satisfying about creating silhouettes. (Click for full view)
Charcoal City Subtraction
This was such a fun study in 3-point perspective- except, the rows and rows of window drove me nuts. But it was a fun challenge after all. These are high rises that I took photos of in Houston, TX.
3-Point Perspective
18x24, Graphite and charcoal on paper. A study in 3-point perspective. I love the clean lines of modern houses. "Original" work.
Still Life in Charcoal
"Hope" 18x24. "Original" Charcoal on paper. This still life study was rendered using the subtraction method. Nothing is more intimate than the time we spend in Bible study and prayer.
Still Life in Charcoal
18x24, "Original" Charcoal and China marker on paper. A study in proportion and plane shifts using the subtraction method. I had so much fun creating the see-through glass and shine.
Portrait in Charcoal & Graphite
18x24, Charcoal and graphite on paper. Using the subtractive method this portrait was rendered using charcoal, graphite, and a white China marker. What a cutie! "Original" from a family photo.
